Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate

Orlando, FL

Below are descriptions of the five educational tracks for breakout sessions at the 2012 Spring IDN Summit and Reverse Expo.

Strategic Insights Track

Today’s healthcare leaders must move beyond the anticipation of change to a position of proactively managing it. Sharing insight, exchanging experiences and building on your knowledge will help you align the goals of your IDN/health system to maximize opportunities that may be available through the provisions of Healthcare Reform. The strategic insights sessions will provide big-picture perspectives of how senior executives are managing the strategic challenges of Healthcare Reform and provide interaction with industry leaders and analysts. This track is designed for senior executives who have operational responsibility for their supply chains, senior level GPO and supplier executives.

Best Practices Track

Improved patient care and outcomes are important to your system’s future, yet continued advancements in these areas can seem daunting in times of shrinking reimbursements and increased demands for cost savings. The best practices track will offer unique insight on innovations that can help you leverage your organization’s assets to bring about enhanced patient care. Through a combination of roundtable discussion and presentations, you will hear Supply Chain of Excellence Award winners and others describe how they are creating opportunities with new and emerging initiatives. These sessions are targeted at healthcare system executives with operational and financial responsibilities, as well as senior level GPO and supplier executives.

Clinical Integration Track

Clinical integration is at the core of attaining success with many of the provisions of Healthcare Reform. The clinical integration track will provide you with new perspectives on achieving effective alignment of clinical initiatives with the business side of healthcare. You will have the opportunity to explore strategies utilized to better engage physicians, clinical staff, pharmacists and others in clinical buying decisions. Learn how clinical integration can yield business decisions that provide opportunities for operating your health system more efficiently. This track is designed for executives with responsibility in value analysis, clinical resource management and pharmacy services.

Purchased Services Track

Purchased services, or areas of “non-supply” spend, often account for upwards of 16 percent or more of operating expenses and are increasingly targeted for potential savings. But with purchased services encompassing several areas, often cutting across different departments, it can be easy to overlook potential savings. In these sessions, you’ll hear how other healthcare systems identify key areas for cost improvement and effectively negotiate for these purchased services. You will have the opportunity to explore proven models for margin enhancement. This track targets executives with responsibility in clinical services, ancillary services, support services, professional services and food services.

Marketing Strategies Track

Aligning your strategies with the goals of your customers is critical. These sessions will help strengthen your market strategies with insight from leading IDN, health system and GPO executives. Gain fresh perspective on how to better position your products or services to assist healthcare systems in meeting the challenges they face. You will also better understand healthcare reform provisions and how they could impact your business partnerships. These sessions are designed for sales and marketing executives with relationship responsibility for U.S.-based IDNs/healthcare systems, as well as IDN/healthcare system executives wanting to learn more about aligning supply chain goals.
